Dr. Soltis

Dr. Pamela S. Soltis is Curator of Molecular Systematics & Evolutionary Genetics at the Florida Museum of Natural History at the University of Florida. She is also Director for Research Activities for iDigBio, the national center for creating a digital catalog of the earth’s flora and fauna. Her research includes molecular systematics of plants, especially angiosperms, morphological and molecular evolution of the flower, and conservation genetics of rare plant species. She was named a Distinguished Professor at UF in 2007.

Dr. Soltis is a prolific author and leading scientist. Included here is her recent article on the Amborella genome and the evolution of flowering plants. The map of iDigBio collaborators (below) shows the dynamic community pursuing technological innovation for integrated digitized biocollections.
